What to bring to your road test – over 18.

  1. Your permit from the Secretary of State. You must have your permit for 30 days before you may take your road test. If you have corr. lens on your permit, you must wear your glasses or contacts.
  2. Photo ID.
  3. roadworthy vehicle with current registration and proof of current insurance. Note: If you are renting a car from another company, please call us (616-772-0962) for further instructions.
  4. Your roadworthy vehicle must have the following equipment and not be damaged, inoperative, or missing:
  • Horn
  • Muffler
  • Turn Signals
  • Safety Belts
  • Lug Nuts
  • Mirrors
  • Windshield
  • Tires
  • Brake Lights (including center brake light)
  • Speedometer
  • Washers

A few more things before you come:

Only the tester and applicant are allowed in the vehicle – No one else is allowed in the car during the test. Children or animals are not allowed in the car. Childcare is not provided. 

Please be on time for your appointment – We suggest you arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.  If you are unable to speak or understand english, you must bring an interpreter that is at least 16 years of age.

Cost of the Road Test is $55.00 – This is payable at the time of your test.  If you wish to change or cancel your appointment, you must notify us 24-hours before. There is no refund for missed appointments or failures. We accept cash, or check ($25.00 charge for returned checks).

Important – Failure to provide or comply with any of the above will result in a $30.00 rescheduling fee.
